Lead UX Designer

Lead design across a portfolio of complex product engagements — from discovery workshops to shipped design systems. You'll set our design standards and mentor a growing team of product designers.

About the role

You'll lead UX across multiple client engagements simultaneously — running discovery, shaping information architecture, creating high-fidelity prototypes, and building design systems in Figma that hand off cleanly to engineering.

This is a senior individual contributor role with team leadership responsibility — you'll mentor two junior designers and represent design in client conversations.

What you'll do

• Lead discovery sessions: user interviews, journey mapping, competitive analysis
• Design end-to-end flows from wireframes to polished, interactive prototypes
• Build and maintain component libraries in Figma with documentation
• Work with engineering to implement designs accurately — you care about the final product
• Define and uphold design quality standards across the team
• Present design rationale clearly to clients and stakeholders

Requirements

• 6+ years of product design experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior role
• Expert-level Figma skills — design systems, auto-layout, variables, component properties
• Experience designing complex data-heavy products (dashboards, analytics, CRMs)
• Strong portfolio showing research, process, and shipped outcomes
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and inclusive design principles
• Ability to work closely with engineers — you understand component APIs and design tokens

Nice to have

• Experience with Framer for interactive prototyping
• Basic front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, React concepts)
• Experience with design system tooling (Token Studio, Style Dictionary)
• Agency or consulting background
